Why the Distinction Is the Whole Ballgame
Account sharing is against Jagex's rules regardless of who is playing, and no provider can change that. But the rule and the risk are two different things, and the risk is dominated by automation.
A script produces timing, movement and reaction patterns that no human produces. That is what makes it cheap — one operator runs dozens of accounts — and it is also what makes it detectable. A human playing an account produces human patterns, because it is a human.

Signals of a hand-played service

- Prices that reflect human hours rather than undercutting everyone
- The ability to do content a script cannot — quests, bosses, raids, anything with judgement in it
- A described team and workplace rather than an anonymous pool of operators
- Public reputation you can read without their involvement
- A delivery-speed option that is expressed in hours worked per day, because that only makes sense if people are working
Signals of a botted service
- Prices well below the market for the same work
- Only repetitive skilling on offer, and vagueness about anything else
- No clear statement about automation either way
- Turnaround promises that would need more hours in the day than a person has
- No public reputation, or reputation only on their own site
Our own express option is a useful example of the sixth signal: it is defined as 16 to 20 hours of work per day across two shifts instead of about 8. That description is only meaningful if humans are doing the work — a script does not have shifts.
What Hand-Played Costs You, Honestly
Being straight about the trade-off, because it is a real one.
- It costs more, because you are paying for hours of human labour rather than a script's electricity
- It is slower per account, because one person plays one account at a time
- It still does not make account sharing permitted, and our terms still state we are not responsible for bans, mutes, rollbacks or hardcore deaths
What you get for that is a risk profile without the largest single risk factor in it, and the ability to order content that a script simply cannot complete.

The reason the process is worth describing is that a script's process would not look like this.
