OSRS Hespori Guide: 65 Farming, Best Gear & Drops

Overview: Hespori at a Glance

Hespori is the Farming boss in the cave in the Farming Guild's west wing. You need 65 Farming (boostable) to plant a hespori seed in the patch there. It grows in 22 to 32 hours, the flower behind the cave entrance blooms when it is ready, and digging it with a spade starts the fight.

Three things decide the fight. Hespori takes no damage while any of its four flowers is alive, and the flowers open at the start, at 66% and at 33% health. Its slash defence is only +20, so a slash weapon is the best pick. When it entangles you in vines, click repeatedly to break free or take 40+ damage.

Each kill gives 12,600 Farming XP when you clear the patch, 1 to 2 anima seeds, one roll on a large seed table, and a 1/35 chance at the bottomless compost bucket.

It attacks with Ranged and Magic. Pick one protection prayer to match your armour: Protect from Magic in armour with high Ranged defence, Protect from Missiles in armour with high Magic defence.

Access Requirements

The west wing of the Farming Guild needs 65 Farming to enter, and that is also the level to plant a hespori seed. Both can be boosted.

Seeds are the real limit. They come at random from checking the health of grown trees, bushes and cacti, from the last harvest of herbs, hops, allotments, flowers, mushrooms, giant seaweed and coral, and from farming contracts. Giant seaweed is the usual pick: spores are easy to get, it grows fast, and each patch has a 1/15 chance to give a seed on its last harvest. You also need a rake and a seed dibber, unless you finished the Farming part of Barbarian Training. Arno at the cave entrance can switch off random hespori seeds if you do not want them. The boss requirements checklist lists the other skilling boss gates.

Location and How to Get There

The Farming Guild is in the Kebos Lowlands, just north of the Kebos Swamp. A skills necklace teleports you inside once you have 45 Farming, or take fairy ring CIR to Mount Karuulm and run south-west. The Hespori cave is in the west wing.

Since the seed takes 22 to 32 hours, plan Hespori around your farm runs: plant, come back the next day, kill, replant.

A death here is recoverable once. Arno keeps the items you lose and returns them for 25,000 coins. Die again anywhere before you pay and those items are gone for good, unless the second death is in a safe minigame.

Recommended Combat Stats and Gear

Aim for 60+ Attack, Strength and Hitpoints. Hespori has +20 slash defence against +60 stab and crush, so a dragon scimitar is a fine entry weapon and any stronger slash weapon is better. Bring a fast ranged option for the flowers: darts, knives, or a blisterwood stake if you have one.

With low melee stats, use fire spells. Hespori has a 100% weakness to fire, which doubles your accuracy and damage with them. Fire Blast at 59 Magic in mystic robes or better works, with Protect from Missiles on (40 Prayer).

Inventory and Supplies

• A super combat potion or super set, or catch a stat-boosting butterfly outside the guild.
• A dragon dagger or another special attack weapon.
• Darts, knives or a powered staff for the flowers.
• Antipoison. Hespori poisons, starting at 4 damage.
• A prayer potion in case the fight runs long.
• Runes for thralls, which do work here. Cast them after you wake Hespori.
• A hespori seed, a spade and (if needed) a seed dibber to dig up and replant.
• Food in the remaining slots.

Mechanics: Attack Styles, Max Hits and Immunities

• Ranged: green spores that hit twice for up to 8 each, cut to 2 each by Protect from Missiles.
• Magic: a green wave for up to 14, cut to 3 by Protect from Magic.
• Entangle: vines root you for 10 ticks, then hit for 40+. Click a tile or Hespori repeatedly; after the fifth 'vines loosen' message, one more click frees you. Since 30 June 2026, transformation rings no longer get you out of it.
• Flowers: four buds with 10 hitpoints each that die to any single hit. Hespori is immune until the last one dies.
• It is immune to the ring of recoil as well as to cannons.

Where Hespori Sits in Progression

Wintertodt and Tempoross are the gentler skilling bosses. Hespori and Zalcano share the top of this group at 2 of 5, and Hespori is the only one decided by your combat stats.

Hespori Strategy, Step by Step

   Before you dig, drink your boosts, cure or protect against poison, set your prayer and equip your ranged weapon. Hespori does nothing until you try to harvest it.

2. 2

   Dig it with the spade and kill the four flowers with your ranged weapon straight away.

3. 3

   Switch to your special attack weapon and spec Hespori while it is vulnerable, then go back to your slash weapon.

4. 4

   At 66% the flowers reopen.

   Kill them, then keep hitting Hespori.

5. 5

   When the vines grab you, spam-click a tile until you break free.

6. 6

   Repeat at 33%, finish it, and clear the patch for the loot and 12,600 Farming XP.

Drops and What Hespori Is Worth

Every kill rolls once on the anima seed table and once on the main seed table. Before the main roll there is a 1/35 pre-roll for the bottomless compost bucket, which holds up to 10,000 compost of any kind.

Combat Achievements

Hespori has six Combat Achievement tasks. Hard: Hespori Adept (5 kills), Weed Whacker (kill all the flowers within 5 seconds) and Hesporisn't (finish it with a special attack). Elite: Plant-Based Diet (lose no prayer points) and Hespori Speed-Trialist (under 48 seconds). Master: Hespori Speed-Chaser (under 36 seconds). Ironman Notes

For an ironman, Hespori is the source of anima seeds and the bottomless bucket, and its seed table is a steady supply of white lily, ranarr, snapdragon, torstol and tree seeds. Giant seaweed patches you grow for Crafting bring in hespori seeds at the same time.

Common Mistakes and Death Causes

• Waking Hespori before boosting, curing poison and setting your prayer.
• Hitting Hespori while a flower is still alive.
• Clicking too slowly out of the vines and taking 40+.
• Using a stab or crush weapon into +60 defence when slash faces +20.
• Dying a second time somewhere else before paying Arno the 25,000 coins.
• Setting up a cannon or relying on a ring of recoil, neither of which works here.
